Tips for Your Child's Success in Class Be on Time At Tri-Star Gymnastics Center, our instructors ask that all children arrive early for class. Classes will begin on time with important warm-up activities, including but not limited to stretching and flexibility exercises to prepare the muscles, have student-teacher interaction, and sharing time. The class warm-up period is an essential part of any and all sports activity. The first 10 minutes is as important as the class. If a student does not receive the proper warm-up time it can result in injury. It also disrupts the class when students arrive late because the coach must take time away from the class to warm-up the student that is late. Being late is far more difficult on a child than what many parents realize. If a student is more than 8 minutes late they may not be able to participate. If you are this late, PLEASE CHECK WITH THE FRONT DESK BEFORE sending your child out on the floor. When students arrive for class, they should remain in the waiting area until signaled/called for class. Be Ready Parents and or students should ensure their readiness for class by having used the restroom, being properly dressed, and fully hydrated. Students are not allowed to chew gum or wear any jewelry for their safety. Ear posts are the exception. Longer hair must be secured back. Hair ties are available for purchase, if needed. What to Wear Girl's Gymnastics We ask that girls wear a leotard, with hair pulled up out of the face. No shoes, socks, footed-tights, or jewelry should be worn. All of this is for safety purposes. Exception to not wearing a leotard is the Trial Class. Boy's Gymnastics and Tumbling Boys and Tumbling students should wear a t-shirt tucked in and shorts or athletic pants with elastic waist. No shorts or pants with buttons, zippers or belts. No two piece outfits should be worn, as not to expose ones mid-drift. The safety of your child and our instructors is our primary concern. Respect others space Please help us keep TSGC a safe place by watching/supervising young children and siblings closely in the viewing area for their own and others safety. No tumbling, running, or horseplay while waiting. We ask that no one stand or climb on chairs or other furniture. In addition we ask that children do not play outside, as this is a parking lot first, we wish for all children to be safe in class or out. Since we have nice tables that siblings can sit at and do homework, coloring books or other activities suitable for doing at a table, kindly bring something for that “extra” child/ren to do while they are at our center. Concentration is a very important aspect of any youth sport. Because of this, we ask that family and friends of students in class not distract them in any way. Please allow instructors to correct behavior during classes. Do not call out or call child/children over, as this is disruptive to the entire class. Flash photography is not allowed due to safety concerns. Your anticipated cooperation is appreciated. Students are NOT ALLOWED in any of the instruction areas or on the equipment at any time unless they are enrolled in the class and the instructor is present. This applies also to parents (except in Buddy & Me classes). After Class Students of all ages must wait inside the building until their ride arrives. Students should be picked up promptly following the class. Extras Students should report any accident or injury to the instructor. Please notify the office when you are unable to attend your regular class . We offer make-up classes to cover a missed class. (One make-up a month) Check the website or check with the office to see when there is a simular class your child can attend. Call or sign up ahead so that we know your child is coming and to make sure there is room in the class. Depending on child's age, they may also use Parent's Night Out on Friday's or use Open Gym on Saturday's as a "Make-up" class at no charge! If you decide to stop taking a class, you need to fill out a drop class form and give it to the front desk at least 4 weeks before you will be stopping. We need to have time to contact anyone on the wait list for that class. You will still be responcible for payment of the next 4 weeks tuition, if you don't give this 4 week notice. Please do not leave valuables unattended. We provide open storage space for clothes. We can not be responsible for lost or stolen items. If clothing is left, it will be placed in a drawer at the counter. Inquire three. Jewelry will be held in the office. Rarely will we close the center due to weather. We do not follow any school districts closings either. TSGC will only cancel classes if weather is extremely inclement. Check our website: www.tristargymnastics.net or call the office for further information. We will be closed for two weeks out of each year: The week of July 4th and the week between Christmas and New Years. Holidays we will be closed: |
